NOTICE OF RACE
ZUIDERZEE REGATTA 2005
The Commodore and Flagofficers of the Koninklijke Nederlandsche
Zeil- & Roeivereeniging (Royal Netherlands Yacht Club),
in close cooperation with the Class Associations,
have the pleasure to invite owners of yachts in the
Flying Dutchman Class
FF 65 Class- Open Class Championship
Pion Class- Dutch Championship
to enter in the 2005 edition of the Zuiderzee Regatta
to be sailed on the IJsselmeer near Muiden on Friday September 2
(Pion), Saturday September 3 and Sunday September 4, 2005
NOTICE OF RACE
1 Rules
The regatta will be governed by the Racing Rules of Sailing (RRS)
The KNWV 'Rules for Championships Sailing and Boardsailing' will apply for FF 65 and Pion.
2 Entries
2.1 Eligible boats may be entered by completing the entry form
published by their class associations before August 27, 2005.
2.2 Eligible competitors shall meet all ownership, class
membership and boat measurement requirements as laid down
in their class rules and must have paid the entry fee before
becoming official competitors.
2.3 The entry fee is 75€ for the Pion, 50€ for the FF,
35€ for the FD and must be paid in cash or via pin at the Regatta Office upon arrival.
2.4 Late entries will be accepted, but will be charged at 20€ extra.
3 Sailing Instructions
The sailing instructions are available from August 28 at www.knzrv.nl or at the Regatta Office on Friday, September 2 2005, 08.00 hrs – 10.00 hrs and 18.00 – 20.00 hrs and on Saturday September 3 2005, 08.00 hrs – 10.00 hrs.

4 Measurement requirements
4.1 Each yacht must present a valid measurement certificate upon
registration.
Yachts and crews may be inspected during the regatta at the
discretion of the Race Committee.
5 Registration and Racing Schedule
5.1 Pion
Friday September 2, 2005 from 08.00 – 10.00 hrs:
Registration and presentation of certificates
Pion :11.00 hrs start of long distance race (25-30 NM)
Saturday September 3, 2005
Pion: 10.05 hrs start of race 2, followed by race 3-4
Sunday September 4, 2005
Pion: 10.05 hrs start of race 5, followed by race 6.
Last warning signal not later than 15.00 hrs.
5.2 Other classes:
Friday September 2, 2005 from 18.00 – 20.00 hrs and
Saturday September 3, 2005 from 08.00 – 10.00 hrs: Registration
Saturday September 3, 2005
11.00 hrs: 1st start of races 1-3
12.00 hrs: 1st start of races 1-3 for Flying Dutchman
Sunday September 3, 2005
10.00 hrs: 1st start of races 4-6
Last warning signal not later than 15.00 hrs.,
6 Courses and Racing Areas
6.1 The course configuration will upwind-downwind,
with upwind spreader buoy and possibly downwind gate.
The Flying Dutchman will sail a triangular course.
6.2 Courses will be laid for the expected duration of max.90
minutes per race, except for the long distance race.
7 Scoring
7.1 The Low-point scoring system of appendix A will apply with the scores in the long distance race in the Pion class having a weight of 1.5.
A minimum of 4 races will constitute a series.
If 5 or more races are completed, the worst score of each yacht shall
be discarded, except for the score of the long distance race in the Pion class.
8 Prizes
8.1 There will be prizes for the first three competitors.
8.2 The winner of the regatta in the FF65 Class and in the Pion Class acquires the title ‘Dutch Champion 2005’.
The winner in the Flying Dutchman Class acquires the ‘Prins Bernhard Memorial’
9 Launching
A crane is available on the premises of the KNZ&RV on Thursday evening from 17.00 till dark, Friday morning from 8.00 hrs and on Sunday after the races.
Boats wishing to be craned earlier on Thursday should contact the Harbour - Masters, + 31 294 261450.
10 Liability and Insurance
All parties involved in the organization the running of the Regatta shall not accept any liability for any accident, injury damage or loss of personal property or otherwise to yachts, third parties and participants, before, during or after the regatta.
The safety of a yacht and its entire management including a third party liability insurance, with a minimum cover of Euro 900.000,- per event or the equivalent in the currency of the country of registration of the yacht, shall be the sole responsibility of the owner or the competitor racing the yacht.
11 Haul out restrictions
Yachts may not be hauled during the regatta after the first race and must be moored
at the assigned locations. In case of serious damage, hauling requires prior written
permission of the Race Committee.
12 Social
A sailors dinner will be organized on Saturday evening September 3, 2005 at the Pampusbar at the Clubhouse of theKNZ&RV. Tickets are available at registration and will be charged separately.
